Glasgow Harbour
Earlier this year Centrex Estates entered into a partnership with Oakwood Homes to redevelop a predominantly commercial / industrial area formerly utilised as shipyards. Presently, over 100 acres to the east of the site are being transformed with the demolition of existing buildings and site clearance as part of the Glasgow Harbour urban regeneration programme.
The site is situated on the south side of South Street at its junction with Ferryden Street in the Whiteinch district of Glasgow. The northern bank of the River Clyde is a short distance south of the site. A stretch of the Clyde tunnel runs beneath the western section of the site.
It is the company’s intention to redevelop the site to form 102 self contained flats / duplexes set within a single purpose built building 16 storeys in height with underground / basement car parking. All floors being served by lifts.
The ground and first floors are to comprise a bar /bistro and leisure facility incorporating a small swimming pool and gymnasium.
